ARTIST BIO

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."  (Philippians 4:13)

Out in the west Texas town of El Paso resides THE 413 EFFECT, the solo project of National Award-winning vocalist & worship leader Joseph Hobdy. Music was always a part of Hobdy's life, and being a preacher's kid (via his mother) would expose him to a vast variety of both Gospel and CCM music. At the suggestion of a friend, he would compete in his high school's talent show in 2003, where he would tie for 1st place performing Mark Schultz' chart-topping hit, "I Have Been There". The solo project, Jh413, was born.

2007 would become a pivotal year for Hobdy, as he would become the sole caregiver for his mother during her battle with breast cancer. During this season, he would write a song with his mother called "Always" that would later be heard internationally on KA Radio.

During his college years, Hobdy would be selected to write music for his regional Student Government Association, with two of his songs ("Standing Tall" and "Time 2 Lead") chosen for placement in Texas Junior College SGA events.

In 2009, Hobdy (still as Jh413) would participate in a collaboration that would result in the recording & release of his debut single "I Will" in late 2010.

Hobdy would also serve as the senior worship leader at the Rescue Mission of El Paso from 2011 - 2014, an experience which inspired the songs "Only You" and "Just Pray".

In 2014, Jh413 would re-emerge as THE 413 EFFECT, and (through a local talent competition) be awarded the opportunity to record at Sonic Ranch -- the world-renowned recording studio in Tornillo, TX.

T4E's achievements include opening for Guinness World Record-holder Brandon Bailey Johnson, Grammy-nominated CCM artist Britt Nicole, and world-renowned Gospel artist Dorothy Norwood.

In his solo efforts, Hobdy has sung "The Star-Spangled Banner" at various events in Texas and New Mexico, and be awarded with the National Award for Best Male Vocalist in the 2017 Sing Your Praise competition. Hobdy's passion, though, is outreach ministry.

There's no doubt about it -- T4E is here to stay!
