What EFFECT will YOU leave behind?
Out in the west Texas town of El Paso resides THE 413 EFFECT, the solo project of National Award-winning vocalist & worship leader Joseph Hobdy. Music was always a part of Hobdy's life, and being a preacher's kid (via his mother) would expose him to a vast variety of both Gospel and CCM music. At the suggestion of a friend, he would compete in his high school's talent show in 2003, where he would tie for 1st place performing Mark Schultz' chart-topping hit, "I Have Been There". The solo project, Jh413, was born.
2007 would become a pivotal year for Hobdy, as he would become the sole caregiver for his mother during her fight with breast cancer (now in remission). This experience shifted how he would write songs from then on. Hobdy (still as Jh413) would release his debut single "I Will" in 2010, but would take an extended hiatus to dedicate more time to care for his mother.
In 2014, Jh413 would re-emerge as THE 413 EFFECT, and (through a local talent competition) be awarded the chance to record at Sonic Ranch -- the world-renowned recording studio in Tornillo, TX.
THE 413 EFFECT has shared the stage with Grammy-nominated CCM artist Britt Nicole, opened for world-renowned Gospel artist Dorothy Norwood, witnessed his singles "Only You" & "Always" heard internationally, and be awarded as a National Award-winning vocalist in the 2017 SING YOUR PRAISE Competition. There's no doubt about it -- T4E is here to stay!
